About Us
Riversong Flyfishing is based in Thermopolis, Wyoming. It is home to the world's largest mineral hot springs, the Wyoming Dinosaur Center, and is just north of the scenic and beautiful Wind River Canyon. Rob Weimann, the owner and head guide, has been guiding these waters since 2011 and grew up fishing the area as a kid. He splits his passions fly-fishing and songwriting, hence the name of Riversong Flyfishing.
The Bighorn River is renowned throughout the state for its powerful Brown and Rainbow trout, but it also boasts some very impressive Snake River Cutthroat. The Bighorn River is a tailwater, released from Boysen Dam upstream of Wind River Canyon. It is fed by the Upper Wind River, the Little Wind River, and various forks of the Popo Agie, originating from the Wind River Mountains. The lake not only provides flows and nutrients to an incredible river system, but it is also an amazing fishery itself holding state records for River Carpsucker, Black Crappie, Sauger, and Walleye.
At Riversong Flyfishing, our goal is to connect anglers with trophy trout while maintaining a healthy fishery. We practice catch and release with barbless hooks, try to minimize fish handling, and return them to the river as quickly as possible. The riparian areas of Wyoming play a crucial role in supporting the ecosystem and fostering populations of various creatures. We take care of the resources, so we have an opportunity to sustain the life that resides there. Come to beautiful Thermopolis and take a trip with our hardworking and experienced guides on the beautiful Bighorn River!
